1970's / 1980's ABC Records / RCS Records Deconstructed Cassette / 8-Track
$95.00
During the 1970s and 1980s, the 8-track cartridge and compact cassette represented two different approaches to portable recorded sound. The 8-track used a continuous tape loop, while the smaller cassette eventually became the more flexible format for listening and recording.
This deconstructed ABC Records / RCS Records cassette and 8-track piece exposes the housings, tape paths, and mechanical logic that usually remained hidden. Reimagined as a one-of-a-kind Electronic Afterlife artwork, the formats become a visible record of how music once moved through physical media.
