1970's Teleconcepts Rotary Dial Telephone
$395.00
Some telephones were designed to disappear into the background. The Teleconcepts Regal French was not one of them. Its decorative form turned an ordinary household telephone into something meant to be noticed—a little bit of old-world styling wrapped around decidedly twentieth-century communication technology.
That contrast is what gives the piece its character. The ornate exterior, rotary dial and telephone hardware bring two very different design languages together: an object pretending to look backward while performing what was, at the time, an entirely modern job.
