1980's Quasar Turntable

A record never hides what it's doing. The platter turns in plain sight, the stylus settles into a groove, and the tonearm slowly travels toward the center as the album plays. The Quasar CL7014 belongs to that tactile world of music, where playback was as much a physical ritual as a way of hearing a song.
Its mechanics give the piece a natural visual language: the geometry of the platter, the sweep of the tonearm and the controls surrounding them. What once existed to disappear beneath the music can now be appreciated on its own.
