Sony Console Dual Cassette Player
Originally: Sony Dual Cassette Player
$295.00
A dual cassette deck was built around one of the defining habits of the cassette era: making another tape. An album could become a mixtape, one cassette could be copied to another, and a carefully chosen sequence of songs could become something made specifically for one person.
Two tape transports meant twice the mechanics—two sets of doors, spindles, rollers and controls working alongside the electronics that handled recording and playback. Taken apart, the Sony deck reveals how much machinery sat behind a format remembered for something as simple as pressing Play.
