1980's Realistic Portable Cassette Player
Originally: Realistic Cassette Player

The Realistic CTR-51 comes from the era when recording something yourself could be as simple as loading a blank cassette and pressing two buttons at once. Voices, music, notes and everyday sounds could suddenly be captured on an inexpensive strip of magnetic tape and played back immediately.
That simplicity on the outside depended on a surprisingly busy mechanism inside. The cassette transport had to move tape consistently past the heads while the electronics handled recording and playback. Once those pieces are exposed, this compact recorder becomes a miniature landscape of mechanical and electronic parts.
